Playing out a heater
So after I wrote last night I started to play a few games while I watch a bit of TV. After a few games i was playing great and running good as well. 5 games through I reallize im ready for bed but I cant because of this heater. A heater is basically just a winning streak. Everything is falling your way and it would be a mistake to stop when your hot like this. I decide to play it out and wind up cashing in 8 straight. I finally lose due to fatigue but the heater served a great purpose. So for anyone out there who reads my blog...( which i assume is only my gf Jo and my big bro David) always play out your heaters. For some hand examples I have a one from a game I just finished.

Hand 2244472379:
Lil Stealth: wins main pot($2400.00)
We are on the bubble and I just doubled up the previous hand. I make a min raise to 200 to open the pot with KQ and get both players to call. The flop brings K1010. A flop that is pretty good for me but can be dangerous if im not careful. Its checked to me and normally I lead out to see where im at but I decide to also check and see a turn. A pretty harmless 8 on the turn hits and its checked to me once again. I decide now that my hand is good. I bet half the pot and to my surpise I get reraised instantly. Its a min reraise from the player who just doubled me up. I made my hand look weak and I think I have a fish trying to make a move on me to show a bluff to get back at me. I decide to just call just in hope for another blank that he will fire at again. I get my wish and get a harmless 4 on the river. He bets 300 into a 1800 pot. Now i was sure my hand was good on the turn and im still ALMOST sure lol. I dont raise just in case I am wrong and he has some huge hand that I couldnt put him on. Of course the fish shows 63 suited trying to steal chips from me. My only wonder is if he shoves would I trust my read and call?
Today was a very good day and im proud of how I played. If I continue to play this way I should be on a nice road to where I want my poker career to be. I still have so much to learn and look forward to much more success.

Making a Change!
Ive spent the last few days trying to find out ways to make more and play more. I think I have decided that the $39 6max turbos are the best bet. I didnt want to move up yet but today for my test run was good and the competition is only slightly better. Not only can I double my profit with this move but I can can double my games played which I really need. Hopefully this move is not premature and works out. Ill have hands and more info tomorrow.

Making a read and trusting it
There is a big difference between winning players and losing players. One reason is losing players tend to just play their cards and not the player. Sometimes a winning player doesnt need AA or KK to win games. Today I have a few examples of knowing your opponent and making a read to win pots.

Lil Stealth: wins main pot($3040.00)
In this first hand it is very early in the game so this makes this read a bit better. Its folded to me on the button and I open to my standard 3x raise with 88. The SB is an unknown player to me and he repops me a very large amount taking it to 260. This huge 3 bet is normally a huge sign from losing player that he is holding AK hoping to get it in preflop. I decide this is the case here and smooth call knowing if that if I avoid an A or K my 88 will be good. So the flop is 966 and he bets about the pot and at this point I could fold but I called pre putting him on AK so I have to go with my read. I shove to possible get a fold but he snaps it off with AK as I thought. Im happy no matter what because I know I made the right play and got it in good. Luckily my hand holds and I scoop and early big pot.

Lil Stealth: wins main pot($5395.00)
Im on the bubble in this game with a tight soild player and a hyper aggressive fish. We all have nice stacks to play hands. I plan on raising a lot of pots on the tight player to try and win free chips while I wait for the fish to shove his chips with an inferior hand and get caught by a bigger one. So in this hand the fish fold to me in the SB and I just decide to call to make a move called a limp steal. Basically a limp steal is when you limp is when you limp from the SB and bet out at any flop to take it down there. So I limp with 96 and see a J39 flop. I make my bet and get a call. At this point I have to try and put him on a hand. He could have a J or a 9 along with me. The turn hits a 9 giving me a set. I make the decision here that he doesnt have a 9. Now I decide to check to convince him im scared of the 9. He bets half the pot and it makes me think that he doesnt have a J because a J would fear the 9 on the turn. I decide hes on some sort of draw and if I just call and the river is a blank I may be able to get more from him on a river bluff. A great river card hits with a harmless 3 and now I need to decide how to get chips from him. The route I choose is a "stealthy" one I might say lol. I bet 200 into a 1000 chip pot. This firmly puts the thought of me holding a weak J in my hand that he may be able to push me off. My opponent obliges my request and goes all in and get a snap call from me. He shows a busted flush and I take a nice chip lead along with a smile to heads up.

Lil Stealth: wins main pot($1100.00)
In this hand I show that it doesnt take a big hand to win a pot. With a limper and the SB calling it makes for 3 of us in this pot. I am holding a weak 84 off but I hit the flop of 863 with 2 clubs. I lead out to see if my 8 is good enough to take the pot down here. I get a call from the limper. A 7 of diamonds hit the turn and I lead out again and get a call. At this point im not sure if my hand is good but I believe he has a club draw. The river is a Q that misses any draws and I decide to just check and hope for a showdown. He makes a bet of 3/4 of the pot and I now know hes not also holding an 8 because he would just check an 8 which takes me back to thinking he has a busted draw. I hope he didnt hit the Q but I decide to call and think im good. He shows a busted flush and I win a nice pot with 84 off.
Today was a bit of a drag with some bad beats but I had to be happy with the way I played. I just made a sick comeback to end the night on the positive side.

Short Sunday
Today was shorter on the poker side becuase the Mrs starts school tomorrow and she wants to spend the night watching movies. I had more success today but im gonna have to go over some hand histories to improve my heads-up game. I had far too many seconds today and its a leak i need to plug quickly. All in all since im only play SNGs having a +$400 weekend is not bad at all. We will see how I work out my schedule for tomorrow now with Jezzy running wild. Looking for a 2K week coming up so wish me luck.

Having fun with the crazy players
Playing at the $13 level I have the pleasure to play with some of the funniest hyper aggressive players online. I mean players that may not be aware that there is a fold button on the monitor. These players can be easy to deal with if you show a lil bit of patience and let them throw their chips in. Most of these players fall in love with trying to bluff players they deem as upper level. I will let them take a pot from me although I suspect they are making a move merely for the sole purpose of getting them to commit all their chips to get me off a hand. I have a few examples from today of such a player.

In this hand the hyper aggressive player and I are the blinds. He completes the SB and I decided to just check behind with KQ. With the K72 flop he checks and I lead out just to see if he hit anything. He calls which doesnt shock me much because he wants to win every pot against me. The 5 on the turn doesnt change much unless he turned to pair so after he checks I bet again. I can check (which I know is what he wants so he can fire on the river) but I decide I can get more by bet again. As I expected he flated once again. Pretty harmless 9 on the river and he surrenders the pot by checking again. I bet half the pot just in case he wants to make a hero call with a 7 but im not surpised when he folds. I know he hates losing this pot to me so I expect him to attempt a move on me later.

In this hand we are in the blinds again and he has some chips to try to push me around. Folded to him he opens from the SB. Now Some players would instantly wanna raise here but I decide to call for 2 reasons. One I know that hes probably weak and I know hes gonna fold to much of my 3 bets because he views me as tight. Two he is making a continuation bet 90% of the time so I will make more by just flatting his raise. I choose to flat to try and get more chips from him. The flop brings K107 with 2 spades. He does make the Cbet I expect but he does it with an all in. Really all that makes sense his hes shoving it all with a draw. By shoving hes really hoping I fold but even if I dont he has plenty of outs to win the pot. I call and the A of spade hits the turn giving him his flush but I make my boat with the K on the river. He makes a comment and shys away from me for the rest of the game. He makes one more knee slapping play when we get heads up that ill share.

Hand 2235577416:
Lil Stealth: wins main pot($3710.00)

Easy Game! So im having more success with the $13s but I hate the fact you can only play 4 at a time. Im only getting in about 30 games a day so im gonna have to dominate to make a decent profit but with my competition I know its possible.

Remembering what level im playing
After playing a whole year at mostly the top buy-in 6max SNGs online I have developed good hand reading and other different skills to help me succeed. A lot of that is thanks to my old coach/staker Brett Fox aka bballwiz. I have made some huge laydowns and after my first day of returning to the lower level of 13 dollar games I have to remind myself that this is a completely different animal.

In this hand I am in the SB with JJ. UTG opens with a standard raise and its folded to me. I decide to 3 bet it. He instantly 4 bets me to 500. Early in the game I dont like to risk that much preflop with less than KK. At this level where players rarely raise im going to respect a 4 bet a lot more. So I decide to fold rather easily and he quickly shows his AA.

In this hand im dealt AA on the button. The cutoff opens and I 3 bet it slightly less then I normally would to induce a call from the original raiser. I get a call from the BB and the raiser. With the texture on the flop I like my hand but im concerned. Its checked to me and although im worried about the flop I make a healthy bet to see if im ahead. I get a call from the BB which surpised me and its followed by an all in from the cutoff. I automatically think that there is no way my AA is good here. I look at my stats and the BB is playing way too many hands so im pretty sure with his flat call thats he is drawing. But what do I think the cutoff has? If he had QQ I think he 4 bets it preflop so I think maybe he has 1010. I am ready to fold before I remember im playing a $13 game and I call it down thinking hes overplaying top pair as all lower stake players do and low and behold he chucked it with KQ. BB folds his straight draw I would assume and my AA hold. Even funnier is this player continued to follow me to every game and was constantly making bad plays so I obv hope he keeps following me lol.
So today wasnt exactly a profitable day but I did play well. AK was not a good hand for me today. In the long run I like where im heading as long as I stay the course and play my game.

And were off!
Today was suppose to be my day on my new schedule but poker had to take a backseat for today due to my other passion bowling. I haven't bowled in a few weeks and it's showing. I had a great first game at 219 but have slipped my last two at 171 and 181. Im gonna need to make some time for practice. Back to poker, I did play a few games just to wet my feet and the competition is in a word.......pathetic! I am going to have to make adjustment to play with the constant limp calling and wild all in shoves on the flop. Even the few regulars are pretty easy money so tomorrow and then on I look forward to great success. I'll be ready to hit the tables hard maƱana.

Very First Blog Entry
It has not been a good time for online poker minors such as myself since Black Friday. With my main source of income being cut due to the great country we live in it has been a rough go. I have constantly mismanaged my online BR and decided that I am going to get way more serious about what I am doing. If I want to call my myself a professional I need to act and play like it. Therefore I decided to start this blog to monitor and help me manage my work. I am a 6max regular at many limits but I need to start all over again. I will be playing on Bodog for now until the end of the year or until I found a more suitable site. I will be grinding $13 6max SNGs until I build my BR to move up to $38. The days of me playing $130 and $235 are for now over as I try to rebuild. For now since Bodog traffic is scarce and you are only allowed to play 4 tables at one time I am going to set my daily game total at 40-60 games. Im hoping for a fresh dominate start as I grind thru the $13 dollar games that I feel I should crush but as a good poker player knows sometimes the cards dont always fall the way they should. More to come.
